1. Ketulusan

3. Kesetiaan
Kesetiaan sudah menjadi barang langka & sangat tinggi harganya.

Teman, saya pernah membaca artikel menarik tentang teknik berburu monyet di hutan-hutan Afrika. Caranya begitu unik. Sebab, teknik itu memungkinkan si pemburu menangkap monyet dalam keadaan hidup-hidup tanpa cedera sedikitpun. Maklum, ordernya memang begitu. Sebab, monyet-monyet itu akan digunakan sebagai hewan percobaan atau binatang sirkus di Amerika.

Cara menangkapnya sederhana saja.

Tapi, tanpa sadar sebenarnya kita mungkin sedang menertawakan diri sendiri. Ya, kadang kita bersikap seperti monyet-monyet itu.
Kita sering mengenggam erat-erat setiap pikiran yang mengganjal hati kita layaknya monyet menggenggam kacang.Kita sering mendendam, tak mudah memberi maaf, tak mudah melepaskan maaf.

At a fund raising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question:

'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.
Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as o the r children do. He cannot understand things as o the r children do.
Where is the natural order of things in my son?'
The audience was stilled by the query.
The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'
Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think the y'll let me play?' I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by o the rs in spite of his handicaps.
I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'
Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt. I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart. The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.
In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again
. Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.
At this juncture, do the y let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?
Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the o the r team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.
The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.
The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.
As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.
The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.
Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!
Run to first!'
Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.
Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'
Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base..

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball
, the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.
He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.
All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!

Shay, run to third!'
As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on the ir feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.

That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, ' the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'.

Shay didn't make it to ano the r summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making me so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mo the r tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

AND NOW A LITTLE FOOT NOTE TO THIS STORY:

We all send thousands of jokes through the e-mail without a second thought, but when it comes to sending messages about life choices, people hesitate.

The crude, vulgar, and often obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion about decency is too often suppressed in our schools and workplaces.

If you're thinking about forwarding this message, chances are that you're probably sorting out the people in your address book who aren't the 'appropriate' ones to receive this type of message Wel! l, the person who sent you this believes that we all can make a difference.

We all have thousands of opportunities every single day to help realize the 'natural order of things.'

So many seemingly trivial interactions between two people present us with a choice:

Do we pass along a little spark of love and humanity or do we pass up those opportunities and leave the world a little bit colder in the process?

A wise man once said every society is judged by how it treats it's least fortunate amongst them.

After grading your leadership skills, are you feeling very happy
with your results or do you feel there is room for improvement?

First of all, we want you to know this: Do not worry if you've
given yourself a low score. When Wendy first went through this
little exercise, she thought to herself: "I don't think I'll
ever, ever, ever make it to become an entrepreneur. Never."

She told herself this: "I've never ever done this, I've never
done that. I've never build a team before, I've never been a
leader." (Especially when you use your own money, it's
different. As an employee, you can use your company's money to
hire other people. But when you are an entrepreneur using your
own resources, it's a totally different ballgame.) So Wendy

Recap:

1) In order for you to turn small amounts of money into BIG
AMOUNTS OF MONEY, you need to start to develop what?

Skills, Knowledge and Experience <- The Metaphysical of Business

2) How do you shortcut your learning curve towards success and
running a successful business?

 You learn from others.

3) What is our most valuable resource?

Time.

4) Poor people use time to do what? -> Save Money.
Rich people use money to do what? -> Buy Time.

Let us ask you a question: "Are You A Leader?"

If you say yes, Congratulations! If you say no, subconsciously,
you're telling yourself you are a follower. And if you tell
yourself you are a follower, what type of results do you think
you will have? Exactly. Follower results. Are you ok with that?

What does it takes to turn small amounts of money into BIG
AMOUNTS OF MONEY? Would you like to know how? Ok. Very good.

By the way, are you one of those people who are
very good at turning big amounts of money to small amounts of
money? (It's ok. We used to be very good at that as well.)

So, we've learned that if you really want to create and grow
great amounts of wealth, you need to learn what it takes to
grow small amounts of money to big amounts of money. And the
way to do that is this:

Have you ever come across this statistic, perhaps you've read
it somewhere before?

=> Statistics show that up to 95% of businesses fail within the
first 5 years.

Does it look scary? It does! But we want you to
think deeper. Why? Why is the number so big? Where is the
failure rate so high? Do you know why the failure rate for
businesses is so high?

Have you ever desired to be a millionaire?

If your answer is yes, ask yourself this next question:
=> Would You Pay Yourself A Million Dollars For What You're
Doing Now?

If you wouldn't, then likely, becoming a millionaire will
always be a dream.

And this is the question that really woke us up as well. We
asked ourselves: "What must I learn?" and "What must I BECOME
in order for me to generate my million?"

We can tell you that whatever we're doing now, is to secure our
financial future for the rest of our lives. So it's important
that you start to plan.

It's surprising, but up to 85% of Singaporeans live paycheck
to paycheck. Meaning, this month's salary is used to pay for
last month's bills. There are some people who are fortunate to
have enough money to re-invest, but the majority of people
don't plan for their future till it's way too late.

The reason we want to share this is because we want you to
start thinking about creating your life.

Because, the fact is that if you are not the one
creating your life, someone else is creating it for you.

Before it gets too late, start to do something.

1) Decide where you want to go , what you want to do or who you
   want to be.

2) Assess where you are right now.

3) Discover what you need to do in order to get from here to
   there.

Don't just let other people tell you what to do with your
life. Create your destiny for Yourself.

You can definitely have better control over your life.

You can create your life exactly the way you want it.

In our running of our recruitment company, CareerExpress, day in
day out, we receive tons of resumes. We've also worked with
multi-national companies and government bodies and we know the
trend. The trend is this:

A shorter and shorter 'Employee Life-Cycle'.

Have you heard of product life-cycle? Are you hearing this -
the employee life-cycle for the first time?

So what is the employee life-cycle about?

For those of you who started work in the 1960s and 1970s, you
would have probably experienced a lot more opportunities as an
employee. You would have probably seen your salary increase
steadily as the economy grew. And at the same time, property
prices also grew as quickly. Is it the same case nowadays?

Do you know what is affecting economies all over the world
today?

Globalisation.

One of the effects we've seen in Singapore is that the Singapore
Government has been actively promoting entrepreneurship in the
recent years.

Do you know what is going on? Why does globalization have such a
big impact on our lives? It's Competition.

We're going to share with some things that you may not have come
across. Have you heard of the term 'Free Agent Nation'?

If you haven't, there's a book called 'Free Agent Nation' by
Daniel H. Pink, and it says that the whole world is moving
towards working for ourselves.

Let me ask you, in developed countries right now,
Are we seeing more and more companies outsourcing their
departments?
Are we seeing more companies hiring contract staff?
(Contract staff meaning that if after half, one or two years,
if I no longer need your service, I can legally say goodbye to you.)

Well, the people who are contract staff, they are
